Richard Leon Babineau was born on March 4th,1931 in Los Angeles, California to Edward and Helen Babineau. He attended grammar school,High School and College, Cal State LA, all in the Los Angeles area.He met Mom, Patricia Ann Stone, when she was 16 and he was 17. They began dating shortly thereafter, and Dad would proudly drive his Ford Model A from Los Angeles to Pomona every weekend. Back then, a date was generally going to the show, or having a simple bite to eat. Mom's Father, Thomas Ben Stone (AKA Catfish Stoney), would give her a $1.00 before each date, just in case something went wrong, and she needed to get a ride home. Of course, she never had to use it, thankfully.
When Dad proposed to Mom, he was told by his Father that he needed to wait until he was at least 20 years old. Dad's parents were none too
pleased, and didn't have a lot of faith that the marriage would last. On April 7th of 2017, they celebrated their 66th anniversary, so much for the Not Lasting Part!!
Dad entered the Army in 1954 serving mostly in Germany. He was honorably discharged in1956. After his discharge from the Army, Dad went straight to work, often working 2 jobs to support the family. He worked for Knudsen Creamery,Technicolor, Weber Showcase and Grocers Equipment Company, until 1975 when he started his own company RLB Enterprises. In between, he partnered with Hamrock Inc., creating and selling custom wire products for the supermarket industry. Ever the hard worker, and always after the next sale, Dad's last purchase order came over the fax machine last week, not bad!!
Dad was preceded in death by daughter Christine. He is survived by wife Pat, sons Rick(Julie), Randy (Debi) and Ken (Cathi), grandchildren Stephanie (Nick), Richard (Celine),Jason (Katie), Ryan (Natalie), Nicolette and Thomas, and great grandchildren Anjeline, Madelynn, Lilianne, Richie and Brayden, and another
Babineau Boy in the oven.

The Babineau family has requested that all guests attend the services in casual beach attire.

Arrangements under the direction of Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary FD1176, Corona Del Mar, CA.
